Meet Adedapo Akinpelu, Renaissance Capital’s new VP, for Investment Banking


Renaissance Capital, today, announced the appointment of Mr Adedapo Akinpelu as the Vice President, Investment Banking, for its Nigerian operation.

This follows the recent hiring of Ayobami Oladosu and Akinlolu Akiobola, two experienced talents who were brought in to help move the company’s domestic sales trading team forward.

The recent hires are all part of the global investment bank’s agenda to expand its operations across both developing and frontier markets in some parts of Europe, Africa and elsewhere.

In an exclusive press release issued to XooIns, the CEO of Renaissance Capital, West Africa, Temi Poopola, expressed optimism that Akinpelu’s entrance will ensure good times ahead for the company.

About Adedapo Akinpelu

Before his recent appointment as the Vice President of Investment Banking at Renaissance Capital, Akinpelu has had nearly ten years’ professional experience, “offering investment, equity capital-raising and mergers & acquisitions advisory services to businesses.”

He had a stint with QG Investment Africa Management; a private equity firm. During his time at QG, he originated and executed investment projects covering many industries, including healthcare.

He was an employee of Standard Chartered Bank for more than six years, working a job role that required him to raise equity capital and oversee mergers and acquisition in sectors such as telecoms, healthcare, oil and gas, FMCG, etc.

Akinpelu graduated with a degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos. In 2008, he became a Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). He also became a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) in 2011.

As the new Vice President for Investment Banking, Akinpelu will work closely with the company’s investment banking team both here in Nigeria/Africa and across the wider EMEA.
